Long blade
The new Secunorm 380 by Martor is a safety knife with a blade extension of 7.8 centimetres and automatic blade retraction. Thanks to the long blade extension, the cutter is suitable not only for cardboard boxes up to four layers thick, bagged goods and all types of film, but also for particularly thick materials like foam, polysterene, insulating wool and expanding foam. Also, certain types of cuts, such as the slicing of paper webs and the separation of end covers on rolls of paper, can be carried out easily, says the manufacturer. At the same time, the automatic blade retraction ensures that the blade disappears in the handle as the user has completed the cutting — meaning it can’t injure him. The ergonomic handle with the integrated soft grip and the grooves on the slider mean users can work in a particularly comfortable way. The blade can be replaced as necessary and quickly without any tools, but it cannot come out of the handle unintentionally thanks to a safety device. The metal strips inside, which are protected against breakage and wear, are appropriate for even the heaviest use, says the manufacturer.
